Pollock is one of the best places in the state for hunting deer, pheasants, and most waterfowl.
Whether you go with the local guides or on your own, there is an excellent chance of taking home your limit.
There are several businesses in Pollock and in the area that offer guided hunting tours. Private guides have access to thousands of acres of the finest local hunting areas.
In addition to private guides, there is also State Wildlife Reserve land in the area which you can hunt for free.
Troy Hanson of Pollock, owner of Dakota Excursions, is shown here with a trophy buck. With main beams measuring 27 2/8” and 28 6/8” and an inside spread of over 25 inches, his buck grossed 202” and netted the South Dakota State Record Non-Typical Mule Deer at 196 3/8”.
