Lewis and Clark

Pollock is located along the shores of Lake Pocasse and Lake Oahe. Lake Pocasse was named for an Arikara Indian Chief. Pollock is located along the Lewis & Clark Trail Highway 1804. It is the location of the Court Martial of Private John Newman.  Original Paintings done by Gordon Schnabel of the event are for sale in Pollock. Another landmark in the Pollock area is the the Arikara Stone Idols. Two large stones resembling human figures and a smaller one, a dog, are found near the West Pollock Resort.
